Recently, The Senate approved the Bill (PL) that regulates the carbon credit market in Brazil, compensating companies that reduce emissions and penalizing the most polluting ones. To assist in adapting to the proposal and in creating a decarbonization strategy, aZaya, greentech that develops and simplifies the calculation of environmental impact of companies, launched the masterclass "Greenhouse Gas Inventory". Registrations are now open and the course will be available online on December 29
Until this day, managers and professionals in the sustainability field will be able to register for free, since the company also aims to promote access to education on the topic and showcase the intuitive usability of its software in the classroom. The idea is to show participants how to create inventories of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions, the first step to establishing a low-carbon economy. With this mapping, it is possible to identify where the largest pollution sources are and, consequently, the sectors that should be prioritized to reduce environmental impacts
The course is produced by Ricardo Dinato and Jéssica Campanha, specialists in the GHG Protocol, internationally recognized standard for the accounting and reporting of GHG emissions. The set of guidelines is one of the largest global references for sustainability reporting in companies, being, inclusive, adapted to the national corporate context in the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program
"This masterclass was carefully built with a team of experts to teach companies how to be more sustainable in business", says Isabela Basso, co-founder of Zaya. GHG inventories are essential tools for defining clear carbon neutrality strategies, what contributes to the optimization of processes, resource economy, alignment with environmental certifications and highlighting the commitment to the future of the planet to clients and investors, complete
Course structure
With more than two hours in duration, the course is divided into two modules. The first consists of five classes, that provide an overview of what an inventory is, its formats within companies and their importance in the corporate sector. At this stage, it is taught, for example, to distinguish the Scopes 1 (direct emissions from operations), 2 (indirect emissions that occur from the use of the company's own electricity) and 3 (indirect emissions from operations)
The second one brings a more practical approach, with a step-by-step guide on how to prepare the document. In this part, it includes explanatory videos about the key concepts of CO2 quantification and scopes in the daily life of organizations, besides what each of the categories are and where to find data for accounting for emissions
For more information and to register for free during Zaya's Black Friday period, a Green Week Zaya, the course will have the full value of R$200, just access thislink.
