A Shopee, in partnership with the Women Entrepreneur Network (RME), announces the launch of the Shopee Woman of the Year initiative – seller edition. The goal is to recognize talent, the performance and growth of Brazilian retailers that stand out on the platform

The awards event will be held in November and will highlight 15 women in three categories: digital transformation, social impact and performance
Leila Carcagnoli, Category Leader at Shopee, highlights the importance of the marketplace as a tool to support female entrepreneurship, contributing to women's financial independence and prominence in business. Ana Fontes, founder of RME, highlights the relevance of the digital environment for the promotion of products and services by entrepreneurs, regardless of the size of your business
The evaluations will be conducted in three phases until November 2024, involving the analysis of the applications by a committee of experts from Shopee and RME, in addition to a panel of renowned judges. The winners will receive cash prizes and Shopee Ads to boost their brand presence and business on the platform
According to a survey conducted by Shopee, more than 50% of retailers with sales in the last 12 months are women, with an average growth of 45% of new sellers per year. The platform also points out that digitalization is an important tool for female entrepreneurship, allowing balance between personal and professional life
Shopee has more than 3 million registered Brazilian sellers, with 90% of the orders coming from local sellers. The company continuously invests in improvements, innovations and professional training of entrepreneurs, having already trained more than 500 thousand through the Salesperson Education Center
