Before the ship, the asphalt: why internal logistics is crucial for exporters

Brazil exported more thanUS$ 340 billion in products in 2024, according to data from the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex). From agribusiness to the manufacturing industry, Brazilian companies are increasingly connected to the global market. However, for a cargo to arrive at the port of Santos, Paranaguá or Rio Grande, it is necessary to overcome a logistical obstacle that still affects deadlines, costs and competitiveness: internal transportation.

Brazil is a continental country, and a good part of the exportable production is far from the ports. National logistics needs to operate precisely so that the cargo arrives at the shipping point without delays or damage, explainCélio Martins, new projects manager at Transvias, largest carrier guide in the country. Many exporters have a well-structured foreign trade operation, but they face difficulties when it comes to transporting the load from the factory to the port.”

With more than8.000 registered carriers, the Transvias platform connects companies to logistics operators specialized in partial loads, complete, refrigerated, dangerous or requiring an appointment. The system allows specific searches by region, type of cargo and destination, what facilitates the choice of the ideal partner for each stage of exportation.

If an industry is located in the interior of Goiás and needs to transport a container to the port of Paranaguá, it is possible to find through Transvias a carrier that already makes this route regularly. This avoids wasted time with lengthy quotes, ensures greater accuracy and reduces the risk of logistical failures, complements Martins.

According to IBGE, road transport is responsible forabout 65% of cargo movement in the country, what makes the role of national carriers even more relevant to the export chain. A study by CNI indicates that the use of digital solutions can reduce by up to15% of logistics costs- a decisive economy in international contracts with tight margins.

In addition to facilitating access to carriers, Transvias also helps to decentralize cargo transportation, allowing smaller companies — often located outside major centers — to compete on equal terms in the global market.

Intermodal 2025: integration between routes, technologies and opportunities

The importance of national logistics for foreign trade will be one of the topics that will drive theIntermodal South America 2025, what happens between the daysApril 22 and 24, noAnhembi District, in São Paulo. Transvias will be present at the event, strengthening its role as a link between those who produce and those who transport — from the origin to the ports and borders.
