Artificial intelligence has established itself as one of the most impactful technological transformations of today's society, influencing from the global economy to people's daily lives. In a comprehensive analysis on the topic, presented at the Yalo Connect AI event that brought together leaders from the largest industries in Brazil, the teacher, researcher and columnist for Uol, Diogo Cortiz, explored the multiple dimensions of AI, highlighting its technical aspects, geopolitical and economic, rescuing the trajectory of this technology since the 1950s, drawing a parallel with the history of computing, period marked by the enthusiasm of the future and the disillusionment of the limitations of the time.
Among this spectrum, three main factors have accelerated the development of AI: the increase in computing power, the massive digitization of data and the rise of tools with artificial intelligence. The enhancement of these tools has made the processing of large volumes of information more efficient, while the digitization, intensified by the web and social networks, generated a huge database to feed the AI models. Artificial intelligence has transformed the way technology is perceived and used.
AI was already part of our lives, through interfaces that we used, recommendation systems, fraud systems. We were already bombarded with artificial intelligence, but in a hidden way. What has changed is that we can now notice it, if you have data. And this brings a new dynamic to the market and to society, explained Professor Diogo Cortiz.
Currently, this smart technology can be used as a geopolitical strategy, once countries and economic blocs compete for leadership in the development and control of this technology, having AI as a competitive advantage for national security, industrial innovation and global influence. The United States and China (the largest global powers) are the main protagonists in this race, investing billions of dollars in research, infrastructure and specialized talents. The European Union seeks to balance innovation with regulatory methods, establishing some rules that ensure the ethical and responsible use of Intelligence.
Furthermore, with the popularization of some tools, interaction with AI has become accessible, allowing new possibilities for use and expanding its social impact. This rapid popularization shows that AI is not just a technological tool, but another paradigm shift, redefining the relationship between humans and machines and paving the way for new applications in various fields.
Not only in the sights of governments and institutions, the corporate sector has also been heavily investing in the use of AI to improve efficiency and costs in the industry. Recently, the Mexican Yalo, intelligent sales platform, today also present in Brazil, announced globally that it has been developing the first intelligent sales agent capable of acting as a digital worker that replicates the skills of human salespeople. This solution is already being tested in some companies and the beta version will soon be launched with major brands in Brazil and around the world.
"Companies seek complete solutions and not just technological tools". For this reason, we are working on the development of the first 100% AI-powered sales agent. The idea is to design an additional team member to carry out specific missions and create a digital workforce that enhances and complements human teams, mentioned Manuel Centeno,General Manager of Yalo in Brazil.
