The Show Business program this Wednesday, February 19, brings an exclusive interview with Diego Barreto, CEO of iFood. Under the command of Bruno Meyer, the edition promises an enriching chat about the technology market, innovation in the delivery sector and iFood's strategic vision for the coming years
If iFood disappears from Brazil, overnight, the national GDP will be impacted by 0,55%, according to a survey conducted by FIPE. It is almost R$ 3 billion converted into gross income per year for thousands of delivery workers
Barreto also reveals the reasons why the app reached 100 million orders in a single month a few months ago and when it will celebrate 200 million per month. “We will reach 200 million orders per month ahead of schedule”, says the CEO
Barreto explains how the company stopped being a technology company to become – and focus, since before CHATGPT – oneartificial intelligence hub, with internally created models of I.A., that identify, for example, which route is better to be taken by bicycle or motorcycle. The I models.A. do iFood, made by the company's professionals, they make 2 billion forecasts per month and anticipate operational needs in a day, for example, of an event that is a national passion – football. On a day of classics like Flamengo and Corinthians, or Neymar on the field at Santos, the platform knows that the supply of delivery drivers is decreasing – because they themselves watch the game – and, therefore, the company anticipates communication with the delivery drivers, generally increasing their remuneration, to be available for delivery on special days
